1950’s theme car lamp:

I started out with a diecast 1:18 scale Buick car model with working doors, hood and trunk. The wheels steer too. Pretty neat little model. I decided to make it into a lamp. I fastened it to a solid wood base with routed out bottom to fit the dimmer switch. I then made an upright post with a hole for wiring to go to the lamp. I bent two license plates to make the shade with a wood stick frame inside it. I melted a 33-1/3 rpm vinyl record around the base to give it that rock-a-billy look.
